The Work Plan provides enhanced transparency around how we plan and carry out our mission. HHS-OIG's work planning process is dynamic and adjustments are made throughout the year to meet priorities and to anticipate and respond to emerging issues with the resources available.

We assess and prioritized risks in HHS Programs and operations.

OIG Executives discuss and assess work proposals and vote to approve or modify work. 

If approved, we post the audit or evaluation in the work plan and begin the work.

We perform the audit or evaluation and issue the report to detail findings and recommendations to be addressed by the HHS agency or other entity to address the identified issues.

We monitor the efforts of the HHS agency or other entity to implement OIG’s recommendations.
