California Skilled Nursing Facility Pays CIA Stipulated Penalty

On November 14, 2019, Point Loma Rehabilitation Center, LLC d/b/a Point Loma Convalescent Hospital (Point Loma), paid a stipulated penalty of $25,000 for failing to comply with certain CIA requirements. Specifically, Point Loma failed to: (1) implement procedures for tracking service and activity logs for parties to Focus Arrangements; (2) implement written review and approval processes for Focus Arrangements; and (3) failed to timely engage a Compliance Expert to perform a Compliance Program Review.
