Utah Correctly Claimed Most of Its Medicaid Supplemental Physicians' Payments

The Utah Department of Health, Division of Medicaid and Health Financing (State agency), correctly calculated and claimed most of its Medicaid supplemental payments; however, the State agency incorrectly claimed $370,000 in net overpayments for State fiscal year 2013. This occurred because the State agency did not have adequate internal controls to ensure that it followed all of its State Plan Amendment provisions when calculating supplemental payments.
