Review of Texas Medicaid Payments for Medicare Coinsurance of Dual-Eligible Beneficiaries in Skilled Nursing Facilities

The State agency made $34,000 ($21,000 Federal share) in improper Medicaid coinsurance payments for 54 of the 100 exceptions in our sample. Based on our sample, we estimate that the State agency made but did not recover at least $120,000 ($73,000 Federal share) in improper payments in 2005.
