The Department of Family did not establish adequate internal controls for assessing and monitoring regular and Recovery Act Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funds provided to CSBG service providers. Specifically, the Department of Family did not conduct full onsite reviews at each of the four CSBG service providers within a 3-year period.

We recommended that the Department of Family conduct full onsite reviews at the four CSBG service providers in a timely manner. In its written comments on our draft report, the Department of Family concurred with our finding and indicated steps that it has taken or plans to take to address our recommendation.
