Review of High-Dollar Payments for Outpatient Services Processed by Palmetto GBA for the Period January 1, 2004, Through December 31, 2005

Of the 39 high-dollar payments ($50,000 or more) that Palmetto GBA made for outpatient services for calendar years 2004 and 2005, 17 were appropriate. The remaining 22 payments included overpayments totaling $1.8 million, which the hospitals had not refunded by the beginning of our audit.
