Medicare Compliance Reviews at Hospitals in Christus Health System

Selected hospitals within the Christus Health System (the Hospitals) (operating in Texas and Louisiana) did not fully comply with Medicare inpatient billing requirements for 216 of the 300 short-stay claims we reviewed. Based on our sample results, we estimated that the Hospitals received at least $3.3 million in overpayments from Medicare.
