Southcoast Hospitals Group (three acute care hospitals located in southeastern, Massachusetts) complied with Medicare billing requirements for 98 of the 338 inpatient and outpatient claims we reviewed. However, Southcoast did not fully comply with Medicare billing requirements for the remaining 240 claims, resulting in overpayments of approximately $1.1 million for calendar years 2010 and 2011.
