York Surgical Associates, Dr. Daniel Growney, and Dr. Ye Ye Agreed to Pay $43,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Upcoded Claims

On April 19, 2022, York Surgical Associates PC, Dr. Daniel Growney, and Dr. Ye Ye (collectively, “YSA”), York, Nebraska, entered into a $43,113.46 settlement agreement with OIG.  The settlement agreement resolves allegations that YSA submitted claims to Medicare for evaluation and management services that were coded at higher levels of intensity than were medically unreasonable and necessary. OIG’s Office of Investigations and Office of Counsel to the Inspector General, represented by Senior Counsel James Hansen, collaborated to achieve this resolution.
