Yavapai Regional Medical Center Agreed to Pay $10,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services Not Properly Certified

After they self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Yavapai Regional Medical Center Physician Care, LLC, Yavapai Community Hospital Association d/b/a Yavapai Regional Medical Center and Dignity Community Care (collectively, “Yavapai”), Arizona, agreed to pay $10,000 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Yavapai submitted claims for services required to be certified by a physician but that were instead certified by a medical assistant using the name of a physician.
