Veracyte Agreed to Pay $100,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Paying Improper Remuneration in the Form of Uncompensated Services

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Veracyte, Inc. (Veracyte), South San Francisco, California, agreed to pay $100,000 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Veracyte, who sells a genomic test known as a Decipher Test, provided remuneration in the form of uncompensated nurse navigator services to five urology practices located in Texas. Specifically, Veracyte’s employees analyzed medical records at the urology practices to identify patients who needed Decipher Tests and completed requisition orders for Decipher Tests that were ultimately provided by Veracyte.
