University Medical Center of Southern Nevada Agreed to Pay $128,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Paying Remuneration in the Form of Payments for Services Not Included in a Personal Services Contract

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMCSN), Nevada, agreed to pay $128,820 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law including provisions applicable to physician self-referrals and kickbacks. OIG alleged that UMCSN paid remuneration to a medical group in the form of payments for services that were not included in the personal services contract it had with the medical group.
