After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Iowa Health System d/b/a UnityPoint Health (UnityPoint), Iowa, agreed to pay $890,877 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Unity Point submitted claims to Medicare and Medicaid for inpatient hospital stays that did not meet medical necessity criteria for an inpatient admission.
