After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, The Health Care Authority for Baptist Health (Baptist), Montgomery, Alabama, agreed to pay $1,499,910.81 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Baptist submitted claims for inpatient hospital services that should have been billed as outpatient or observation services.
