After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, The Eye Institute, Inc. (TEI), Oklahoma, agreed to pay $204,484.16 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that TEI submitted claims to Federal health care programs for services not provided as claimed due to improper coding and billing by a doctor. Specifically, the doctor billed for claims when he was not in the office and for claims that were not medically necessary.
