After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Tanner Medical Center, Inc. (TMC), Georgia, agreed to pay $118,971 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that TMC submitted claims for inpatient hospital services provided by a registered nurse when they were not licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia. Single damages were calculated as the full salary and benefits paid to the nurse during the period they worked without a valid license.
