San Luis Obispo County Agreed to Pay $56,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law for by Submitting Claims for Counseling Sessions that Were Not Provided as Claimed

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, San Luis Obispo County (San Luis), California, agreed to pay $56,583.68 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that San Luis excused clients from their drug and alcohol group counseling sessions prior to the scheduled end of the sessions, but billed the Medicaid program as if the sessions had been completed.
