Ryan Cleland, DC and Infinite Wellness Integrative Medical Center Agreed to Pay $249,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Medically Unnecessary Services

On September 4, 2025, Ryan Cleland, DC (Cleland), Edwardsville, Illinois, and Infinite Wellness Chiropractic LTD d/b/a Infinite Wellness Integrative Medical Center (Infinite Wellness), Glen Carbon, Illinois, entered into a $249,258.24 settlement agreement with OIG. The settlement agreement resolves allegations that Cleland and Infinite Wellness presented and caused to be presented false and fraudulent claims to the Medicare Part B Program for electrical cell signaling treatments using codes for electrical stimulation (97012, 97032, 97112, and G0283) and vitamin injections (96372, J3411, J3415, J3420, and J3490) that were not medically reasonable or necessary and not reimbursable by Medicare.
