Research Triangle Institute Agreed to Pay $11,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Improperly Charging Expenses to a CDC Contract
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Research Triangle Institute d/b/a RTI International (RTI), Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, agreed to pay $11,003.05 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that a former RTI employee charged an HHS contract for hotel and lodging costs that were not actually incurred by the employee. RTI learned of the conduct following and internal investigation. The contract was awarded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in connection with the National Survey of Family Growth.
