After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Quest Diagnostics Incorporated (Quest), New Jersey), agreed to pay $50,000 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law including provisions applicable to physician self-referrals and kickbacks. OIG alleged that Quest paid remuneration to two medical practices in the form of nonmonetary compensation when it paid for expenses related to their holiday parties.
