Prosthetic Artists Agreed to Pay $54,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Ocular Items and Services Not Provided as Claimed

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Prosthetic Artists, Inc. (PA), California, agreed to pay $54,002.30 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that PA submitted claims for construction of a custom plastic piece, commonly referred to as a "model", using CPT code V2628 for fabrication and fitting of an ocular conformer.
