PAI Participant 1 Agreed to Pay $749,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services Not Provided as Billed or Not Medically Necessary

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, PAI Participant 1 LLC (PAI), Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, agreed to pay $749,702.51 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that PAI’s contractor submitted claims for evaluation and management services that were not medically necessary and not provided as billed. Additionally, the contractor submitted claims to Medicare for the services of a non-credentialed provider under the credentials of another provider.
