Northwestern Medical Group Agreed to Pay $76,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services Provided by Unlicensed Individuals
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation d/b/a Northwestern Medical Group (NMG), Chicago, Illinois, agreed to pay $76,083 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that NMG submitted claims to Federal health care programs for services furnished by unlicensed nurses. Single damages were calculated as the full salary and benefits paid to the nurses during the period they worked without valid licenses.
