NHC Healthcare – Burlington Agreed to Pay $31,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services Provided by an Unlicensed Individual

On July 28, 2025, NHC Healthcare – Burlington, LLC (NHC Burlington), Burlington, North Carolina, agreed to pay $31,726.40 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that NHC Burlington submitted claims to Federal health care programs for services provided by an unlicensed practical nurse. Single damages were calculated as the full salary and benefits paid to nurse during the period they worked without a valid license.
