Monroe Hospital, North Vista Hospital, Paradise Valley Hospital, San Dimas Community Hospital, and St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center Agreed to Pay $250,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Employing Excluded Individuals

After they self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Monroe Hospital (Monroe), North Vista Hospital (North Vista), Paradise Valley Hospital (Paradise Valley), San Dimas Community Hospital (San Dimas), and St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center (St. Mary’s), with locations in Nevada, California, and Indiana, agreed to pay $250,464.39 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that: (1) Monroe and San Dimas employed individuals that they knew or should have known were excluded from participation in Federal health care programs; and (2) North Vista, Paradise Valley, and St. Mary’s employed individuals that they knew or should have known were excluded from participation in the California Medicaid program (Medi-Cal) and that no Medi-Cal payments could be made for items or services the individuals furnished.
