Midland Memorial Hospital Agreed to Pay $555,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims to the HRSA COVID-19 Uninsured Program Not Provided as Claimed
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Midland County Hospital District d/b/a Midland Memorial Hospital (Midland), Texas, agreed to pay $555,141.72 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Midland presented claims to the Health Resources and Services Administration’s COVID-19 Claims Reimbursement to Health Care Providers and Facilities for Testing, Treatment, and Vaccine Administration to the Uninsured Program (COVID-19 Uninsured Program) for treatment services rendered to patients without a COVID-19 primary diagnosis (or pregnancy with a COVID-19 secondary diagnosis).
