Michael Grundy, MD and Michael J. Grundy, MD, PC Agreed to Pay $92,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services that Exceeded the Number of Sessions Allowed
On March 19, 2024, Michael J. Grundy, M.D. and Michael J. Grundy, M.D., P.C. (collectively, “Dr. Grundy”), Atlanta, Georgia, entered into a $92,206.76 settlement agreement with OIG. The settlement agreement resolves allegations that Dr. Grundy submitted claims to Medicare for epidural steroid injections that exceeded the allowable number of sessions in 6 and 12-month periods. OIG's Office of Audit Services and Office of Counsel to the Inspector General, represented by Senior Counsel Gregory Becker with the assistance of Program Analyst Mariel Filtz, collaborated to achieve this resolution.
