Medical Center Health System and Medical Center Hospital, and MCH Professional Care, Agreed to Pay $518,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Medically Unnecessary Services
After they self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Ector County Hospital District d/b/a Medical Center Health System and Medical Center Hospital (“MCH”) and MCH Professional Care, Inc. (“MCH Professional Care”), Texas, agreed to pay $518,849.22 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that a MCH Professional Care physician performed medically unnecessary carotid angiographies at MCH, thereby causing MCH to submit false claims to Federal health care programs.
