After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital and Clinics (MRHC), Wheaton, Illinois, agreed to pay $190,316.52 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that MRHC submitted claims for services provided by an unlicensed speech pathologist. Single damages were calculated as the full salary and benefits paid to the nurse during the period they worked without a valid license.
