Janette Gray, MD and Janette Gray MD Inc. Agreed to Be Excluded for Five Years for Allegedly Submitting Claims for Misrepresented, Medically Unnecessary and Unbundling Services
On October 7, 2024, in connection with the resolution of their False Claims Act liability, Janette J. Gray, M.D. and Janette J. Gray M.D., Inc. (collectively, ōDr. Grayö), agreed to be excluded under 42 U.S.C. 1320a-7(b)(7) for 5 years.Ā The investigation revealed and the United States alleged that Dr. Gray submitted claims that: (1) misrepresented the identity of the rendering provider, concealing the fact that the rendering provider was ineligible to render services to Medicare and TRICARE beneficiaries; (2) misrepresented the service rendered, concealing the fact that the service rendered was ineligible for coverage by Medicare or TRICARE; and (3) unbundled services by submitting claims for component parts of procedures instead of a single claim that encompassed the entire procedure.Ā Senior Counsel Gregory Wellins represented OIG.
