Jackson Purchase Medical Center Agreed to Pay $455,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services Provided by an Unlicensed Individual

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, PineLake Regional Hospital, LLC d/b/a Jackson Purchase Medical Center (JPMC), Kentucky, agreed to pay $455,400.80 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that JPMC submitted claims for services provided by an unlicensed social worker. Single damages were calculated as the full salary and benefits paid to the social worker during the period they worked without a valid license.
