Inspira Behavioral Health Agreed to Pay $141,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Paying Remuneration in the Form of Cash Payments and Free Office Space
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Inspira Behavioral Health, Corp. (Inspira), Puerto Rico, agreed to pay $141,327 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Inspira paid remuneration to health care providers (HCPs) in the form of cash payments per patient admitted by the HCPs to Inspira’s partial hospitalization program (PHP). OIG also alleged that Inspira paid remuneration to a physician in the form of free office space through reductions in rental charges per patients admitted by the physician to Inspira’s PHP.
