inSite Digestive Health Care Agreed to Pay $1.7 Million for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services by Uncredentialed Providers and Claims Out of Compliance with Incident-To or Split/Share Rules
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, inSite Digestive Health Care (inSite), California, agreed to pay $1,795,870.30 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that inSite submitted claims to Federal health care programs: (1) for services performed by certain non-physician practitioners who were not properly credentialed with Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare; (2) that did not comply with incident-to billing rules; and (3) that did not comply with split/share billing rules.
