Ignite Medical Resort Carondelet Agreed to Pay $118,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services Provided by an Unlicensed Individual

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Ignite Medical Resort Carondelet, LLC (Ignite), Kansas City, Missouri, agreed to pay $118,272.40 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Ignite submitted claims for skilled nursing facility services provided by an unlicensed licensed practical nurse. Single damages were calculated as the full salary and benefits paid to the nurse during the period they worked without a valid license.
