Hospital Oncológico Dr. Isaac González Martínez Agreed to Pay $105,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Employing an Excluded Individual

On November 3, 2022, Liga Puertorriqueńa Contra el Cáncer dba Hospital Oncológico Dr. Isaac González Martínez (Hospital Oncológico), Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, entered into a $105,411 settlement agreement with OIG. The settlement agreement resolves allegations that Hospital Oncológico employed an individual who was excluded from participating in any Federal health care program. OIG's investigation revealed that the excluded individual, a medical utilization director, provided items or services that were billed to Federal health care programs. OIG’s Office of Investigations and Office of Counsel to the Inspector General, represented by Senior Counsel Jonathan Culpepper, collaborated to achieve this resolution.
