HCD Intermediate Holdings Agreed to Pay $2 Million for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Paying Remuneration in the Form of Waived Copayments and Free Items
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, HCD Intermediate Holdings LLC (HCD), Virginia, agreed to pay $2,035,207.50 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that HCD paid remuneration to enrollees in Federal health care programs in the form of: (1) free items and/or extra products; and (2) waiver and/or discount of financial responsibilities for enrollee coinsurance and deductible amounts.
