Francis Lagattuta, MD Agreed to Be Excluded for 5 Years for Allegedly Submitting Claims for Medically Unnecessary Skin Biopsies, Spine Surgeries, and Urine Drug Testing
On July 7, 2023, in connection with the resolution of his False Claims Act liability, Francis P. Lagattuta, M.D., Paso Robles, California, agreed to be excluded under 42 U.S.C. 1320a-7(b)(7) for 5 years. The investigation revealed and OIG alleged that Dr. Lagattuta caused the submission of false claims to Federal health care programs for services and procedures that were not medically reasonable or necessary, including epidermal nerve fiber density testing, spinal cord stimulation procedures, and definitive urine drug testing.
