Eskenazi Health Agreed to Pay $4.8 Million for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services that Failed to Meet Provider-Based Requirements

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, The Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County d/b/a Eskenazi Health (Eskenazi Health), Indianapolis, Indiana, agreed to pay $4,810,546.55 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Eskenazi Health submitted false provider-based claims to Federal health care programs for mental health services where the services, provided in certain Outpatient Care Center space not operated under common hospital licensure, did not meet applicable provider-based requirements.
