Dunes Surgical Hospital and USP Siouxland Agreed to Pay $267,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Paying Remuneration in the Form of Free Office Space and Above Fair Market Value for Services
After they self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Siouxland Surgery Center LLP D/b/a Dunes Surgical Hospital (DSH), South Dakota, and USP Siouxland, Inc. (USP), Texas, agreed to pay $267,582.00 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that DSH paid remuneration to a physician group and a physician in the form of free office space at DSH. OIG also alleged that DSH paid remuneration two a second physician group in the form of above fair market value lease payments for use of the second physician group’s MRI machine and related services.
