Corridor Anesthesia Agreed to Pay $1.1 Million for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services Rendered by Unauthorized Individuals
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Corridor Anesthesia, LLC (Corridor), Maryland, agreed to pay $1,117,684.50 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Corridor submitted claims to Federal health care programs for services provided by certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) who were not authorized to bill for their services on behalf of Corridor. Therefore, Corridor billed for these services under the name of another CRNA who was authorized to bill on behalf of Corridor.
