Citizen Advocates Agreed to Pay $58,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Incident-to Services Without Proper Supervision
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Citizen Advocates, Inc. (Citizen Advocates), New York, agreed to pay $58,138.75 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Citizen Advocates submitted claims to Medicare for therapy services “incident to” physician services that were improper because they lacked appropriate physician supervision did not comply with the incident to billing requirements.
