Children’s Hospital of Orange County Agreed to Pay $1 Million for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services Rendered by Providers Not Properly Enrolled
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), California, agreed to pay $1,047,820.36 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that CHOC submitted claims to Federal health care programs in connection with patient encounters by nurse practitioners that were not supported by corresponding professional services by a provider who was properly enrolled in those programs.
