Avicenna Pharmacy Agreed to Pay $180,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Paying Remuneration to Beneficiaries in the Form of Reduced Deductibles
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Avicenna Pharmacy (Avicenna), Illinois, agreed to pay $180,993.22 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Avicenna paid remuneration to Medicare beneficiaries in the form of reducing beneficiaries’ deductible amounts by first submitting fake claims to Medicare.
