Avantara North Agreed to Pay $20,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services Provided by an Unlicensed Individual
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Avantara North, Rapid City, South Dakata, agreed to pay $20,000 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Avantara North submitted claims to Federal health care programs for services provided by an unlicensed nurse. Single damages were calculated as the full salary and benefits paid to the nurse during the period they worked without a valid license.
