Attorney General McCuskey: Nurse Practitioner Pleads Guilty To Health Care Fraud
CHARLESTON — West Virginia Attorney General JB McCuskey on Thursday said a licensed nurse practitioner pleaded guilty to four counts of health care fraud following a multiyear investigation conducted by the Office's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU). Shawn Blankenship, who also owns Holistic Inc. in Kanawha County, admitted he knowingly and willfully caused the submission of materially false claims to Medicaid and its Managed Care Organizations for medical services that were not provided.
