Attorney General Bonta: Owner Of Placer County Residential Care Home Arrested And Charged With Medi-Cal Fraud
SACRAMENTO – California Attorney General Rob Bonta today announced the filing of felony charges against the owner and the facility manager of Granite Bay Residential Care Home, a home for adults with special healthcare needs, for Medi-Cal fraud of over half a million dollars. The investigation revealed that between January 2020 and September 2022, the two defendants billed Medi-Cal for services they did not provide and were given an overpayment of more than $500,000. The investigation further revealed the defendants misappropriated program funds for personal luxury purchases, and stole two iPhones and two Mac Book Pros which were purchased with program funds.
