After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Ascension Via Christi Hospitals Wichita, Inc. (Christi Hospitals Wichita), Kansas, agreed to pay $3,059,138.30 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Christi Hospitals Wichita paid remuneration to organ transplant physicians, trauma physicians, orthopedic physicians, and cardiovascular physicians in the form of free advanced practice provider services.
