Andrew Gomes, MD Was Excluded for Defaulting on Payment Obligations

On July 10, 2025, OIG excluded Andrew Gomes, MD, Puerto Rico, for defaulting on his payment obligations under a False Claims Act (FCA) Settlement Agreement (Agreement) with the Department of Justice and OIG. Dr. Gomes previously entered into the Agreement for paying improper remuneration to physicians for referrals to clinics established to surgically treat patients with Peripheral Arterial Disease. The exclusion goes into effect immediately and will remain in effect until OIG reinstates Dr. Gomes. In order to be eligible for reinstatement, Dr. Gomes must cure the default of his payment obligations in the Agreement.
