Alexandra Tellez Agreed to Pay $60,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Receiving Remuneration in Exchange for Referring Medicare Services

On September 11, 2025, Alexandra Tellez (Tellez), La Puente, California, entered into a $60,000 settlement agreement with OIG. The settlement agreement resolves allegations that Tellez received remuneration in the form of monetary payments and a gift in return for referring individuals or arranging for the furnishing of items or services for which the Medicare program paid. OIG’s Office of Investigations and Office of Counsel to the Inspector General collaborated to achieve this resolution.
