Advocare Agreed to Pay $2.2 Million for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Paying Remuneration in the Form of Bonus Payments
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Advocare, LLC (Advocare), New Jersey, agreed to pay $2,239,215 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Advocare paid remuneration to a non-member physician in the form of bonus payments that corresponded to certain outpatient drugs and durable medical equipment ordered by that non-member physician that were outside the scope of his employment.
